Overview
The Red Blonde Tuxedo Guppy is another selective ornamental offering in our Guppy category. Distinguishing characteristics of Tuxedo Guppies match those of the elegant white shirt and dark pants look in formal wear. Male Red Blonde Tuxedo Guppies have lighter upper bodies, dark lower bodies, and vibrant red tails. While the females in this species lean more towards an assorted variety, they are easily identified because they tend to be larger and duller in color than the males. Through careful and selective breeding, these vibrant freshwater fish will add interest and energy to your aquarium.
The Red Blonde Tuxedo Guppy is active, has a peaceful nature, and gets along well with tankmates with a similar temperament. Incorporating these ornamental fish will add instant interest to your water environment. A smaller fish (1 ¾” at maturity), they are at home in tank sizes of 10 or more gallons. Because they are hardy and resilient, they are a great option for both beginners and advanced enthusiasts who maintain optimal water conditions.
Red Blonde Tuxedo Guppies are live bearing fish and are fairly easy to breed when provided with a covering of floating plants and a breeding box to protect the fry from adults. The fry should be fed brine shrimp, micro food, and pulverized flakes. For adults, algae-based flake food, along with brine shrimp and freeze-dried bloodworms, will provide the necessary nutrition.
